Radish is a crunchy root vegetable, mostly eaten raw in salads, with a pungent flavour.
Radish Leaves (mooli k patte) are green coloured long leaves that are edible along with their white root. It has a peppery hot flavour and is widely used in Soups & Salads or to garnish a different variety of dishes.
Even though not many people like radish or radish leaves (mooli k patte), it comes with a bundle of health benefits- from heart diseases to digestion which detoxifies the system.
Radish leaves are a good source of vitamin A & vitamin C which helps in building immune cells. It also helps in preventing diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart diseases.
There are different dishes that can be prepared from radish and radish leaves like mooli ke parathe, mooli ki sabji, mooli k patton ki sabji (saag), mooli k patton ka achar, etc.
Mooli k Patton ka achar (radish leaves pickle) is a very new, unique and different recipe, not known by many people. The recipe is quite simple and the pickle turns out to be tasty and crunchy.
This pickle can be stored for about 8-10 days in an air-tight container and you can use it as a substitute for vegetables if you are in a hurry.
It tastes good with plain or stuffed parathas (I prefer plain paratha) but you can have it with anything you like.
This pickle tastes different from the regular pickles and can be consumed immediately without having to wait for days as in other pickles.
The whole step by step recipe with images at each step is given below. You can also have a look at the recipe’s video for a better understanding.
