Chinese Pasta|Pasta with a Twist| Veggie Pasta

Have you ever imagined pasta in Chinese Style? Yes, I am talking about an Italian dish with a Chinese Twist.

Here we are going to make pasta with lots of veggies and sauces but, in Chinese style. The recipe is very simple yet flavourful and has nutrients, as we are adding so many veggies to it.

So, instead of making the regular red sauce, white sauce pasta for your family and kids you can try this new twisted and healthy Pasta recipe. The whole step by step process of making this recipe is given below.

To make your dish more nutritional, you can add some more veggies like yellow bell pepper, red bell pepper, spring onions, etc.

Ingredients:             

  1. Pasta (penne or macaroni) – 2cups (or 1 small packet). I used 1 small packet macaroni
  2. Oil – 2-4 tbsp
  3. Vinegar – 1tbsp
  4. Soya sauce – 1tbsp
  5. Onions – 1 cup (finely chopped)
  6. Green chillies 2-3 (finely chopped)
  7. Ginger Garlic paste – 1tbsp
  8. Carrot – 1 cup (finely chopped)
  9. Capsicum – 1 cup (finely chopped)
  10. Beans – 6-7 (finely chopped)
  11. Cabbage – 1 cup (finely chopped)
  12. Black pepper – to taste
  13. Tomato sauce – 1tbsp
  14. Chilli sauce – 1tbsp
  15. Salt – to taste.

Preparation of pasta:
  1. In a pan take 4-5 cups of water and heat it over medium-high flame.
  2. When the water starts to boil add some oil (so that the pasta doesn’t stick to each other}.
  3. Add the pasta and 1/2 tbsp of salt.
  4. Boil the pasta and keep a check so that it’s not overcooked.
  5. When the pasta is boiled, drain out the water and rinse the boiled pasta in cold water.
  6. Now add 1tbsp of vinegar, 1tbsp of soya sauce and black pepper (to taste) to the boiled pasta and mix well.
  7. Keep the pasta aside.
Preparation of pasta in Chinese style:
  1. Take a wok and heat it.

 

  1. As the wok gets heated up, add oil.

 

  1. Once the oil is heated, add the ginger garlic paste and the chopped green chillies.

 

  1. Sauté it and add the chopped onions.

 

  1. When the onions are slightly cooked (don’t overcook) add the veggies.

 

  1. Add a pinch of salt to the veggies and cook for a few minutes.

 

  1. Now add the pasta and toss well.

 

  1. When the pasta and the veggies are mixed well we will add the tomato sauce, chilli sauce (according to the spice you want) and salt to taste (remember we have added salt to the veggies also).

 

  1. Again toss everything.

 

  1. Our Chinese pasta is ready to be served hot.
