This is a whole wheat flour recipe without using gram flour (besan) or all-purpose flour and includes very few spices and ingredients to keep its original taste intact.
These parathas turn out to be crisp & delicious and are packed with healthy nutrients as well. Methi paratha is also known by other names like methi roti, fenugreek paratha or methi thepla
Methi ka paratha tastes great on its own but is usually served with green chutney, plain curd, mango pickle, red chilli pickle or just plain paratha with some lassi on the side.

How to make Methi Paratha or Methi ka paratha (15 mins) – BEST version EVER. Step by Step recipe with images at each step: –
Making the chilli garlic paste: –
- Take a mixing jar and add garlic cloves and green chillies.
- Grind it.
Preparing the Paratha dough: –
- Take a large mixing bowl and add the flour.
- Add chopped methi leaves, onion and prepared chilli & garlic paste.
- Now add salt to taste.
- Mix all the ingredients without adding water.
- After mixing everything nicely, add water as required and knead the dough.
- Methi paratha dough is ready. (refer video for more clarity.)
Rolling and shaping the parathas: –
- Pinch out a small ball-sized dough and dust it with flour.
- Now roll it with light hands into a round shape paratha or roti.
- The paratha is ready to cook.
Cooking the parathas: –
- Heat a Tawa and cook the paratha on medium flame.
- Apply oil on both sides.
- Cook until crisp and golden on both sides.
- Methi paratha is ready to serve.
- Serve it hot with Aam ka achar & Mirchi ka achar.

- 4 cups Wheat flour
- 7-8 Green chillies
- 10-15 Garlic cloves
- 2 Onion chopped
- Salt to taste
- Water for kneading
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
