Bread pakoda is a popular street food and a tea time snack in India. These crispy fried pakodas are delicious in taste and are good party snacks.
Bread Pakoda is basically a North Indian snack, made with bread slice, gram four & spices, along with few other ingredients.
There are 2 ways of making this delicious snack – with potato stuffing and without potato stuffing. I am going to share the recipe of the second one i.e. BREAD PAKODA (WITHOUT POTATO STUFFING). It is easy, simple and has comparatively LESSER CALORIES than the one with the potato stuffing.
These crispy, crunchy bread pakodas are loved by all and you can enjoy them with your whole family at your breakfast table or you can have them as an evening snack with a cup of coffee/tea.
The whole step by step process of making these delicious bread pakodas is discussed below. Do try it…!!!
Ingredients:-
- Besan/gram flour – 2 cups
- Ajwain/carom seeds – 1tbsp
- Onion – 2 medium sized finely chopped
- Dhaniya/coriander finely chopped
- Green chillies finely chopped
- Salt – to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Method:-
How to make Delicious & Crispy Bread Pakodas
Preparation of batter:-
- Take a bowl and add all the ingredients i.e. besan, ajwain, onion, dhaniya, green chillies and salt.
- Mix them well.
- Now add water until a thick batter is formed with constant stirring to avoid lumps.
Preparation of pakodas:-
- Take the bread slices and cut them into 4 pieces.
- Now dip them in the batter and coat them fully from all the sides.
- Take a pan and heat the oil in it for deep frying the pakodas.
- Once the oil is hot, place the coated slice of bread in the pan and deep fry them until you see beautiful golden brown colour.
- When the pakodas are golden brown take them out on a plate and serve
