Til k Laddo recipe| Til Gud Laddu| Tilkut| Sesame Sweet

Til k Laddo also known as Til laddu or sesame seed Ladoo is a traditional Indian sweet that has been enjoyed by generations during the winter season.

Til k laddo is believed to provide warmth and comfort during the cold winter months and is therefore prepared in almost every household during the winter season.

The recipe of Til k ladoo originated in North India and is a popular sweet made during festivals such as Lohri & Makar Sankranti.

It is made with 2 basic ingredients – sesame seeds (til) and jaggery (gud). A mixture of roasted sesame seeds and jaggery syrup is prepared and shaped into small balls that are allowed to cool, resulting in a delicious sweet treat.

Apart from being delicious, til k laddu is also known for its nutritional value. High fibre, healthy fat and a great source of protein make it a good and healthy alternative to other sweets.

It is also vegan & gluten-free making it a great option for those on dietary restrictions. Also, sesame seeds contain lignans, which have anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce the risk of certain chronic diseases.

In this recipe of til k laddu, we are using the natural sweetener – jaggery, that less processed and is a better option than sugar for everyone looking to limit their sugar intake. It is, therefore, also called “Til gud laddo”.
